The classic Beco Baby Carrier started the Soft Structured Carrier craze that babywearers today are enjoying!  It was the first buckle carrier to showcase designer fabrics and prints and take baby carriers from serviceable to stylish!!!!  The Beco 4th Generation features the padded waistband and comfortable shoulder straps as the newer Beco models, the Butterfly II and the *new* Gemini, but it has a few features that aren't available on the Becos today!  The 4G had a removable hood and a storage pocket on front that could store either the hood or other small items that you might need while babywearing - keys, wallet, cell phone.  The shoulder straps connected to the front panel with a buckle making it easy to unclip them, cross them across your back, and re-buckle creating an X that distributes baby's weight better and promotes easier breastfeeding on the go!  If you have a chance to wear a Beco 4th Generation, I highly recommend it!  The Beco 4th Generation was my first love and although the Gemini is the newest version of the 4G, I'm not sure anything can truly replace such a wonderful carrier in my heart!
