In addition to her work for the BCIA, her thriving wrap manufacturing business, Wrapsody: The Wraparound Baby Carrier, employs a family-owned company under fair trade conditions in Bali. What an amazing woman, right?
Kristi is a natural public speaker, and when I first asked her months ago about coming to be our guest speaker for our upcoming birthday party, she immediately said YES and sent me a list of interesting topics that would be fascinating to hear! We’ve chosen 2 sessions for our #PAXbirthdaybash8, one geared towards babywearing educators called Branding for Businesses which will delve into the topic of how to make YOUR brand stand out among the crowd, a trait that Kristi has mastered! Her second session is applicable for everyone who wants to improve ANY relationship whether that is parenting, business, teaching, or marriage! The Baby Carrier Industry Alliance needs our support!
There is a lot happening in the small world of the babywearing industry at the moment. New standards are being enacted which will change the way baby carriers are regulated in the US, and ultimately, around the world. The BCIA works tirelessly to provide a voice for businesses, like PAXbaby, and consumers, like YOU, in the creation of this legislation.
The lobbying, the attorneys, traveling to ASTM meetings around the country, representing babywearers and the babywearing industry as a whole does not come cheaply and the BCIA is desperately in need of additional funds so that they can be sure the new standards protect both babywearing and babies!

Not “wearing” sometimes is just not an option when you have a toddler. (Provided you are in good health.)

As long as you are healthy, and you have made sure to check with your healthcare professional (doctor, midwife, OB, etc.), you are good to go!
**Make sure to reassess as your pregnancy goes on!**
Your older child will love the fact that they get to snuggle mama still, while bonding with their new baby brother or sister.
Pregnant babywearing means that some times you have to be creative; your regular carries just might not be comfortable anymore. This is especially true in the first and third trimester, when you may be competing with morning sickness, a bigger body, and various aches and pains.

Try wearing the buckle of your soft structured carrier low on your hips while your child is in a back carry, or even above your growing bump.
Cannot stand to have anything near your tummy?
Use a ring sling in a hip carry.
Try a Pod, or meh dai.
Perhaps a wrap conversion with no waist.
OR tying Tibetan with a knotless finish.

]]>Monday came and went and was SUCH a moving day for all.

The event was hosted by Network Medical, a pregnancy care center, with many young moms in need!!!
Boba so generously matched PAXbaby.com’s donation, and this class was to demonstrate for the moms, and to also teach the “in house” nurse, how to use the Boba stretchy wrap as well as the Boba Air.
PAXmommy Jillian taught the new moms about proper ergonomic positioning, such as the ‘M’ positioning, as well as the benefits of babywearing for both mother and infant.
Not only was she able to teach these important babywearing skills, but PAXmommy Jillian also talked one-on-one with some of the moms about sensitive issues such as C-sections, birth and breastfeeding.
