Reading this story after just having my own home water birth a few days ago. (I haven’t written up my own story yet,but I will soon. I’ll just say it was a little more of a beautiful mess than yours lol!) Love it so much! It is truly amazing what our bodies are capable of and how being in a safe and calm environment can do so much to ease the birthing process. Cate is beautiful and a huge congratulations to you and your family on the addition of your daughter!

I love your story! Cait has always been my girl name but I just had my third boy…we’ll see if I ever get my Cait. =) I was supposed to have my first home birth after two natural hospital births. Unfortunately, baby #3, Cillian, came 7 weeks early…my first preemie. Thankfully, I was still able to have him naturally with minimal intervention and he was born kicking and screaming. I think he has done so well, partially because I used no medication during labor. We had to stay in the NICU for 18 days but he came home (at what would have been 36 weeks gestation) exclusively breastfeeding! Considering the circumstances, things have gone well. I still hope that God will allow me to have my homebirth. Congrats on your sweet baby girl! She is a doll!

Congratulations Jillian!! What a blessing she is – and that you had the perfect birth you’d hoped for! I could just keep reading and reading, and especially looking at photos. As a student midwife, thank you for choosing home birth and a midwife to care for you and Cate as you do what your body does best! She is just beautiful and I wish you all the best in the first few days of her life together!

So precious!! This was the kind of birth we planned and prayed for, but in God’s providence ended up with a c-section. We are praying and working toward next time and hope to be blessed with a big family.

What a touching experience to share. After planning a natural birth and ending up with a c-section, then a second c-section, it was bitter sweet to read. Regardless of method of entry, what a miracle to share the experience of becoming and being a Mom! You are an amazing person to share this with your daughters.
