Laying in bed with my baby sleeping on my chest, his little soft head and wisps of hair tickling my chin, so intoxicating, can’t believe I haven’t eaten him yet. So nice to read this, after doing all the things above (except the shower, how do you do tha?) For three years with boy #1 I am only now able to proudly say “we don’t have a crib” etc instead of trying to change the subject bc I didn’t want to get into it. So glad Carissa is putting away those books. Sadly I can’t share with friends bc they are all bottles, cribs, and schedules! Thanks for letting me “come out!” I am so proud of raising my sweet boys the only way I can. I love it!

I needed to read this today! Starting to get exhausted from sleepless nights with my 4-week-old, I started reading today about “sleep training” and putting baby to sleep in his own bed consistently… but then I read this and had peace, I am doing it exactly how it should be done. He sleeps best against my chest, who am I to restrict where he should sleep? He is happy here and I am happy with a well-rested baby.

gosh hon, how absolutely gorgeously written, every word went straight to my heart!! i have three bubs (9, 2 and 1), and all were “worn”. ie. your comment about nursing while eating supper – yep! those are the good times… 🙂
