The always adorable Katie from Beco Baby Carriers has brought us another fabulous Beco video, this time comparing the new Beco Gemini to the vintage and beloved 4th Generation and also to the Beco Butterfly II. The 4G was Beco’s best selling carrier until it was retired in 2008 making way for the new favorite, the Beco Butterfly. The BBII, as we at PAXbaby fondly call this carrier, has the internal Y panel, the detachable infant insert, and the removable hood! It is all together wonderful, and the best long term baby carrier that we recommend! It can also fit the largest range of parents! The Gemini has a heavily padded body and head rest that attaches with straps to the shoulder straps, and a set of snaps that allows the babywearer to widen the body of the carrier. Front facing out and hip carries are both possible with the Gemini as well as front and back carries while the 4G is front, hip, or back, and the BBII is simply front or back.
Enjoy Katie’s video, and please let us know if you have ANY questions! I have been wearing Beco Baby Carriers for 4 years now and loving every minute of the babywearing adventure that is life with 6 kids under 8, so if you want opinions, ask away, I’ve got them!
We love our Gemini! We went to the fair yesterday and she was in it facing-out for a couple of 45-minute stretches while we walked around. And she was happy as a clam. I was checking to see if she got over-stimulated but she was happy and content the entire time, so I let her stay that way. : ) We’re going camping and hiking this weekend, and I look forward to using the carrier then too. Thank you so much for the Gemini! It is perfect!
As you’re strolling along happily ever after in your Babyhawk Mei Tai or Oh! Snap do you ever wonder how it all began? Here it is a true Cinderella story ! The mama behind it all, Babyhawk creator Robyn Collar, is in the news!
Have you ROCKED your ’Hawk lately!?!? Don’t have one??? GET ONE!
The 2010 Emmys have now wrapped up, and while not every attendee got to take home an award, they all got to take home some serious SWAG! No word on what’s in this year’s bags, but the sharp eyes at PAXbaby discovered that at least a couple years ago; some celebs took home something near and dear to our own hearts…
Sadly, it’s obvious that there are a few celebs that sorely (all puns intended!) need to be gifted a WONDERFUL carrier!
I don’t know who I feel more sorry for here: poor Lisa Marie or her beautiful little girl! Get this poor woman and her poor back a Beco Gemini, Butterfly, or Boba STAT! She could even pair up any two of those carriers to carry BOTH of gorgeous twins together! (And one might think that an OhSnap! in Dylan would be perfect for her little ones…)
Jennifer Garner is another mama who needs some help with tandem babywearing, because I’m willing to bet that what she has going in this picture isn’t working for her, LOL! A Beco Gemini would allow her to wear either of her kiddos on her front or her back, and even give her the option to face her younger babe out to see the world for short periods of time!
She’s got great shades, a gorgeous bag, and an adorable son… yet Heidi is sporting a boring black carrier? Hook this lady up with something stylin’, like a Butterfly in the AMAZING Echino Blue Scooters print! Every celeb baby deserves a little style of his own!
This last picture bears including, even though it looks like things are going fine. Okay, so Ethan is pretty much off the charts on the cute-o-meter even without the babywearing! However, you could stick him in anything from PAXbaby and he’d look just that much more AMAZING! Couldn’t YOU see Ethan in a earthy Lula Organic Sweet Potato and Stone Olive’s & Applesauce?
It’s clear that not everyone was there that day to receive the perfect carrier that they so desperately need! Seems they need PAXbaby to come to the rescue!
Sydney’s most talented mom-tographer is also a babywearer! Not only does Amanda take gorgeous pictures, but she is a bonafide Beco lover!!!! She demonstrates in her whimsical video a superman toss into a back carry with 14 month old Zoe! The Gemini Paige looks adorable, as usual, and I’m loving the 2 little vintage chairs in the background! Thanks, Amanda, for sharing the Beco love, and anyone who wants to feast their eyes on some loveliness, head on over to this busy mum’s photography site!
You asked, I listened! Introducing a new flock of Kozy Carriers for you to choose from! The gold standard in mei tais, these carriers have been popular for years, and I just love this family owner business! TheKozy is a wide bodied baby carrier ideal for newborns through toddlers; petite parents and tall parents can all wear the Kozy comfortably!
The Kozy is a “one size fits most” baby carrier with standard shoulder straps measuring 60″ and waist straps measuring approximately 30″. When shopping for a carrier to share with another babywearer, the Kozy could be IT! Reversible to solid color on the opposite side of the colorful panel, and a large enough front panel to accommodate a denser bodied partner, the Kozy is easy to share between caregivers. To enjoy the reversability factor, face the colorful patterned side towards yourself to enjoy the plain solid color as your outer panel. There is also a small pocket, deftly sewn into 1 of the shoulder straps, to hide away your credit card or small cell phone.
Don’t give up just ’cause you’re pregnant; keep on babywearing!!!! You can easily buckle or tie a waistband low under the bump and a ring sling or pouch can be slung to the side to avoid the belly! Babywearing your older child is a great way to maintain the bond between you two, and also to get a bit more exercise than you would pushing a stroller!
Some of my favorite babywearing-while-pregnant baby carriers are the Scootababy, the Beco Butterfly II, and the Boba. The Scootababy is so versatile that you can start with your toddler on your hip, and as needed, you can swivel the waistband around to the back for a 1 shouldered back carry! At 33 weeks pregnant with Baby #5, I actually went to a birthday party for a friend that we didn’t know very well. When I took Baby #4 out of my Beco Butterfly front carry, everyone was surprised because the Beco had hidden my bump so well!
And if you still don’t believe it, look at these adorable pictures by Monkey’s Mama who has a wonderful blog that you should all go follow! She is a cloth diapering, babywearing, give-awaying mama to 1 handsome lil guy and a baby boy in her belly due in November! She is hosting a contest to win one of PAXbaby’s FAVORITE baby carriers, the Boba Organic 2G, so make sure you get on over there and try to score yourselves a Boba!
Here she is showing off her beautiful almost 30 week belly, her Boba, and her babyworn toddler! Thanks, Monkey’s Mama, for proving that babywearing while pregnant can be comfortable!!!!
