I’m so confused by comments about babywearing being hip, new, and a great invention! Us BWing parents know that babywearing is actually a very old concept and dates back 100s of years! Granted, we babywear with more style and pizazz now, but my dad carried baby me in a brown cord Snugli with an internal insert similar to the one that the Beco Butterfly features now!
In my sea of moving boxes and half unpacked furniture, I can’t find my vintage babywearing photographs, but here is a picture of my friend Karina (the model in the official Alice Beco picture!) being carried in a SPOC (simple piece of cloth) by her big sister, Heidi! SO CUTE!
*happy babywearing*
This is ADORABLE!!!! I love love love this! How fun. I love seeing old pictures of people babywearing. My favorite is seeing pictures of women in other countries doing it. Its so cool!
Here is another Vintage Babywearing picture! Too cute!
adorable!!!!
Very cute! I get that a lot, too, and I tell people that it’s been around forever. It’s one of the better questions I get asked while babywearing 🙂
